Kemal Hadžić
Kemal Hadžić (Ključ, Bosnia and Herzegovina) is one of the most prominent Bosnian photographers and visual artists. He has been active in photography since the late 1960s and gained international recognition in the early 1970s, earning the status of artist within the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP). Throughout a career spanning several decades, he has created a remarkable body of artistic, documentary, and portrait photography.
Hadžić collaborated with leading film and record companies of former Yugoslavia, including Sarajevo Disk, Jugoton, Diskoton, and PGP Belgrade, and is the author of numerous iconic photographs of musicians, actors, and public figures. Since 1979, he has been a member of the Association of Applied Artists and Designers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the Siege of Sarajevo, he remained in the city, producing a significant part of his documentary work dedicated to the experience of war and everyday life under siege. His photographic series and exhibitions have been presented throughout Europe and the United States. Over the past decades, he has lived and worked between Sarajevo and Phoenix, Arizona. As a long-standing member of the Zvono art group and the creator of a distinctive visual language, Hadžić has left a profound mark on contemporary photography in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.
