Slobodan Vidović

Slobodan Vidović (born in 1974 in Bosanska Gradiška, Bosnia and Herzegovina) is a visual artist who lives and works in Banja Luka. He graduated in Painting from the Academy of Arts at the University of Banja Luka in 2002 under Professor Ratko Lalić and completed his postgraduate studies at the same institution in 2014. He received the First Prize for Students of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2000 and the City of Banja Luka April Award for Young Artists in 2005.

Throughout his career, Vidović has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia, France, and the United States. His work has been presented at institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art of Republika Srpska, Gallery DOB in Belgrade, Božidar Jakac Art Museum in Slovenia, as well as at various international exhibitions and artist residency programs.

Vidović’s artistic practice moves between abstraction and figuration, exploring the relationships between image, space, media, and contemporary visual culture. His works often emerge through a dialogue between painting, photography, digital media, and urban experience, creating layered visual narratives that address perception, identity, and contemporary society.

As one of the prominent artists of the middle generation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slobodan Vidović has developed a distinctive artistic language that connects contemporary artistic tendencies with reflections on space, time, and visual experience.
