Vladimirka Velaga

Vladimirka Velaga (born in 2002 in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina) is a visual artist studying Painting at the Academy of Arts, University of Banja Luka. Her artistic practice encompasses painting, textile art, embroidery, video, and installation, through which she explores themes of home, female heritage, family memory, and identity.

Drawing on personal and family experiences, Velaga develops projects that examine the relationship between intimate narratives and broader social and cultural contexts. Her work often engages with traditional craft techniques and everyday objects, transforming them into contemporary artistic expressions that reflect on belonging, memory, and the transmission of knowledge across generations.

She has participated in numerous group exhibitions and artistic projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region, establishing herself as one of the promising voices of the younger generation of contemporary artists. Through a multidisciplinary approach, Vladimirka Velaga investigates the intersections of personal history, collective memory, and cultural heritage.
